Conditions We Treat The Sleep Disorders Center of East Alabama specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders . Individuals who may benefit from the Center are those who have chronic problems falling asleep, staying asleep, staying awake during the day, excessive snoring or breathing disturbances such as sleep apnea . We also see patients for a variety of sleep disorders including narcolepsy , shiftwork problems , parasomnias , restless legs syndrome , and periodic limb movement disorders in adults, adolescents and children. Treatment Options Treatment options of sleep disorders may include CPAP, Bi-PAP, medications, surgical options, oral appliances, sleep hygiene changes and weight loss. EAMC also offers a breakthrough treatment option for obstructive sleep apnea patients unable to use or get benefit from CPAP called Inspire . Resources The Sleep Disorders Center at EAMC offers a variety of education and resources for those who suffer from sleep disorders and conditions. In addition to educational information on good and bad sleep habits, our sleep disorders team offers an online sleep test, overnight sleep studies for diagnosis, support groups for those who use CPAP machines and access to other specialists at EAMC should you need additional treatment or resources for other conditions caused by or related to your sleep disorder.
